On the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, Plant-for-the-Planet is planting trees to fight the climate crisis. Planting trees creates jobs, is good for biodiversity, and captures the greenhouse gas CO2. Trees buy us valuable time, which we need to use to reduce our emissions. Their work covers 20,000 hectares, an area larger than the country of Liechtenstein.
Provides local people with fair paid jobs.
Creates healthy native forests and combats climate change and biodiversity loss.
Increases the local employment rate.
Stop talking. Start planting.
The project's goal is to plant one trillion trees to win more time in the battle against the climate crisis. For every tree planted, 1 € also goes into the Plant-for-the-Planet Children Academies, which empower children to become ambassadors for climate justice.

Ensure sustainable food production systems and implement resilient agricultural practices.
Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all.
Protect, restore and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, and halt and reverse land degradation and biodiversity loss.
The trees are planted on the project's own land on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. They go in the ground during the rainy season between July and December, and Plant-for-the-Planet cares for them for up to three years after planting.
